This Wednesday we will have various members of A.G.H.O.S.T. – Advanced Ghost Hunters Of Seattle Tacoma – on to share pictures, possible EVPs and evidence gathered at a recent trip to several haunted locations in Montana! So get your monitors streak free and your good headphones ready!
One of the places investigated was ‘Old Montana Prison’ https://www.visitmt.com/listings/general/museum/old-montana-prison.html Old Montana Prison is located in the Old Montana Prison Complex, which houses five unique museums inside its historic prison walls. The complex includes the Old Montana Prison, Powell County Museum, Frontier Montana Museum, Yesterday’s Playthings and the Montana Auto Museum. One fee covers all museums.
Discover yesteryear when you step into the first Territorial Prison in the western United States. The prison was built by convict labor in the late 1800s. The gray sandstone walls of this immense structure are 24 feet high and buried 4 feet deep to prevent escape by tunneling.
You can visit the enclosed courtyard where the convicts exercised, and walk through their austere cell blocks and feel the chills of maximum-security cells. The last prisoners were moved in 1979 after which the facility was opened to the public.
The Dumas Brothel was a bordello in Butte, Montana. The brothel was founded by French Canadian brothers Joseph and Arthur Nadeau in 1890 and named after the nominal owner, Delia Nadeau, née Dumas, who was Joseph’s wife. It grew considerably through the years, with the miners employed by the city’s copper mines often patronizing the establishment. After several changes of the “madams” and continuing pressure from authorities, the brothel closed in 1982, described as “a rare, intact commentary on social history”. At the time of its closure, it was the longest operating brothel in the United States, having operated years after prostitution was made illegal. After closing, the brothel changed hands several times, eventually becoming a tourist attraction owned and managed by a series of Butte residents.
The video recording will go on our YouTube channel and our website shortly after the ‘Live’ broadcast..
